| Connecting Across Difference: a four day project at the Roundhouse in February 2009 | Christine Janssen, 5 Feb 2009 |
| Drake Music is delighted to invite 14-18 year old disabled young people to participate in an exciting music project where you can explore how to use instruments and technology to make music and art. The project will take place from 17th, 18th, 20th and 21st February 2009, 10:30am to 2:30pm at the Roundhouse in Chalk Farm. It is part of Connecting Across Difference being run by a collaboration of Drake Music and Furtherfield.org. Three artist-tutors, a composer, a music technologist, and an artist will guide the participants in using specialist assistive technologies and instruments to create music and art. There will be a short performance of the work you have created on Saturday 21st February; family and friends are welcome! You will also be invited to perform the music you create at Bethnal Green's Museum of Childhood on 20th March 2009. The project is FREE but please bring a packed lunch. We may be able to help out with travel. If you will need extra support a carer, parent or guardian should attend the project with you. To find out more you or your parent/guardian can call Jess Tierney on 020 7424 8493 or email Jessamine.Tierney@Roundhouse.org.uk Commissioned by Drake Music Produced and directed by Futherfield.org in collaboration with Drake Music | |
