| Drake Music and PCAS will be presenting at the Communication Matters National Symposium 2009, Leicester University at 4pm on Sunday 20th September under the title: 'Breaking Down Barriers to Singing Through AAC (Augmentative, Alternative Communication)' The presentation will focus on the creation and piloting of accessible resources for the The Sing Up Song Bank with the aims of: • Fully involving disabled pupils in singing, including pupils with physical disabilities, sensory impairments or communication difficulties • Providing teachers and class teams with the resources and training to enable this to happen Accessible singing resources have so far been created for Clicker 5 software as well as a number of VOCAs (Voice Output Communication Aids) and these have been piloted in 5 primary schools catering for disabled pupils in the South West. More resources are to follow and they will all soon be available to download from The Sing Up Song Bank The presentation will be delivered by Doug Bott of Drake Music and Sally Chan of PCAS. | |
